FDP on Artificial Intelligence- 19/12/2022 to 23/12/2022
Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Microsoft Azure organized online Faculty Development Program on Artificial Intelligence from 19th December to 23rd December. Mrs. Monalisa was the resource person. The topics covered are Introduction to Implementer Data Analysis and supervised learning, classification and Text analysis, Deep learning, Pedagogy and Design Thinking.Dr. Shashikala S V was the Convener and Mrs. Vani Nand Mr. Prasanna Kumar M J were the staff coordinators. Sixty Faculties from various Engineering colleges attended this FDP.
Technical talk by industry Experts- 10/12/2022
Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized the Technical Talk by Industry Experts from BGS VGSIT, Bengaluru on 10th December 2022 at BGSIT Seminar Hall for students of 3rd Semester CSE, ISE and AI&ML. Mr. MuthurajMuthappa, QA Director – Tech Mahindra addressed the students by highlighting on new technologies and motivated to take certification programs in new technologies. Mr. Arun Kumar, CEO & MD, Smiles &Milez, Bengaluru interacted with students by explaining on importance of communication skills in order to reach the targets. Mr. Murali, CEO, S2V Automation Pvt Ltd, Mysuru addressed and explained the importance of Industrial Automation and Automotive Automation in today’s dynamic world. Mr. Shylendra M P, Project Delivery Manager, L & T Technology Services, interacted with the students by explaining on managing projects. Mr. Gowrishankar G C, Team Lead, Capgemini and Mr. Raashith H H, Solution Architect, Mercedes Benz interacted with the students by motivating them to become entrepreneurs. The session was very interactive. Students were clarifying their queries on projects, internships and other programming languages from the experts. More than 180 students of 3rd semester actively participated in the event.
Workshop on Python Programming- 3rd& 10th Dec 2022
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BGSIT organized 2 days workshop on Python Programming on 3-12-2022 and 10-12-2022. The resource person was Mr. Harish B N, Software Engineer from BGSVSIT Professional Trust. He explained practical sessions on Python installation and Execution of python programs. More than 150 students of 5th semester actively participated in the workshop.
Workshop on Career Guidance Program-28/11/2022 to 02/12/2022
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, BGSIT organized 5 days workshop on Career Guidance Program from 28-11-2022 to 2-12-2022 for 5th semester students. The resource person was Mr. Mohammed Idris M Z, Software Programmer, Skill Bout Professional services, Bengaluru. The 5 days workshop was included practical sessions on Logical building to code a program, programming and different ways of writing a code and how to think mathematics to code a program in different ways. The workshop created awareness about tackling the recruitment drives.More than 100 students actively participated in the workshop.

A workshop on “Activities for better understanding of algorithms ”was organized by the CSE department on 3rd August 2022 at 2:00 pm. Dr. Uma B, Professor & HOD from MCE, HASSAN wasthe resource person. 4th sem CSE students & staffs were present in the program. From thisworkshop, students understand different kinds of algorithms, how to write algorithms & how to apply algorithms in real-world applications. Around 100 students have participated in this event.

A technical talk on “Robotic Process Automation” was organized by the CSE department on 22nd April 2022. Mr.Yashpal Gupta S, faculty from VVCE, Mysore, was the resource person. He spokeabout Robotic process automation (RPA), the use of software with arti_icial intelligence (AI) andmachine learning to handle high-volume, repetitive time-consuming tasks that required humans toperform, and RPA Tools are widely used for the con_iguration of task automation. Around 120 studentsand staff attended the program.

He also spoke about the embedded system, microcontrollers, and different types of Arduinos and their usage. Around 100 students and staff attended the program.

A technical Talk on “CYBER SECURITY” was organized by the CSE department on 19th April 2022 from 02:00 pm to 03:00 pm.Mr. Sunil Kumar, Asst. Professor VVCE, Mysore was the resource person. The staff and 6th sem students were present in the program. This program helps in planning and implementing security strategies to reduce risk and enhance the protection of information, assets, and systems. It also helps in communicating effectively, verballyand in writing with corporate management on cyber security-related issues.
